Katesplayground Wikipedia Lima
Meanwhile, I am in Lima for almost two weeks here. The first week I spent with mujer maravilla on vacation, the second is alone and working. Most of the time it seems to be humid and warm to hot, it never rains. Now and then there will be a very light "rain", the so-called garúa that has to do with the coastal fog. The center is the classic English colonial style accordingly applied in a checkerboard pattern. We see there a lot of lovely old buildings (or at least their facades) in colonial style, but most of it from the 18 Century, as the city was regularly hit by earthquakes and Großteil of the old buildings on it went there. Very nice to see is a fountain in the Plaza de Armas, which dates from 1651. Until a few years, the center of Lima have been severely insecure, but you have probably made sure that everything is not so bad and you can see on many street corners and in front of policemen and bank branches outside the government palace in the already mentioned Plaza has reassigned almost every policeman with a machine gun - probably a relic from the 1980s and '90s, as various rebel groups regularly perpetrated attacks. For me, the air is unbearable. Too much smog! Only when I am südlichen outskirts stand on the slope to the Pacific, I feel something else. However, I need a bus from the center an hour before. Bus travel in this city is a matter which I recommend to all visitors to the heart, ultimately not much different than in other Latin American cities, I suspect, but from my personal experience from Santiago de Chile and Buenos Aires but different in that the majority of buses are smaller format, so you usually do not at the front with the driver aboard but rather a bit behind him. Next to the driver, there is a Cobrador , a cashier, who spends the most time standing on the steps of the door and on the street; Enabschnitten on which the bus travels more slowly, loudly main roads and points in the city announced that the bus is or is driven away. Did they once sat down and placed upright in the aisle, comes the Cobrador over after a while, asks where you want to get out, and called one to answer the amount to be paid, which often amounts to a sol ( about 26 € cents) if you are not too far ride takes you. Occasionally I had the misfortune to get a seat, which was only uncomfortable if the ceiling was so low that only I could stand reasonably upright when I lowered my head on his chest and stared at the ground - from the orthopedic Sicht definitely not good entertainment, but the average Peruvians seem to be smaller than me and therefore should not be asked so often before this problem as my humble self. It has also the opportunity to take a taxi to get from A to B. Meter, there is not, however, so you must ask the price, before we get. The price for a certain distance generally varies according to the nature of the taxi, which can be climbed (new or old, big or small, officially, semi-formal or black), for the time, the volume of traffic and after the face of the potential passenger (I will pay as well Gringo in most cases slightly more). At times, heavy traffic, it can also scho
